Getaway Hats, was founded in Philadelphia, PA, in September 2021. We started with a simple idea: create a hat that’s as ready for adventure as you are—packable, durable, and effortlessly stylish.
Getaway eventually become more than a brand; it’s a mindset. We’re a small, scrappy team that thrives on curiosity and a love for exploration. For us, travel isn’t always about planes and passports. It’s a chance to break routine, soak in new perspectives, and embrace the unexpected, whether that’s halfway around the world or a few blocks from home.

In January 2023, we set out to change the way people think about travel hats with the launch of our Semi-Structured Collection on Kickstarter. Designed to handle anything—from spontaneous adventures to everyday commutes—this lineup of three versatile hats struck a chord with travelers everywhere.
The campaign earned Kickstarter’s coveted “Project We Love” badge and raised $40,374—807% of our original funding goal. With the support of 678 backers from over 30 countries, it was clear: people were ready for a better travel hat.
